Found a photo story. Wasn't in Richmond Park as I had hoped but still in the town of Richmond. Helen discovered the place on our walk to Richmond Park and pointed it out to me saying what a great story a boat builder would be. The administration at Richmond Park was very concerned about liabilities and finite resources and banter I had no interest in. So I went down to the boat builders and talked to some of the guys there for a bit who said Mark, the owner was out until 3. Helen and I got lunch and she took off for home with her own agenda to attend to. I went back over to the boat shop and made small talk with one of more experienced guys there named Jan waiting for Mark to return. After the nervous/awkward "photojournalist student from Amerrrrrica I want to take your picture" introduction, we drank a cup of tea and talked about boat building and various tangents. Got some decent shots. Going back tomorrow morning bright 'n early. Times starting to pass more quickly here. It's good.

Went to Richmond Park today in search of a story. Going back early tomorrow to find one. Saw some excellent nature. Got some decent shots. Also happened upon the cutest puppy ever (King Cavalier Charles Spaniel); reminded me of kerr kerr. 5 of the 6 Flat 91 Park West occupants are back, all with ridiculous and hilarious stories. Today was the usual Sunday, a lazy but entertaining and somewhat productive one. We went food shopping, ate pineapple, watched Disney's Alice In Wonderland, made a wonderful dinner consisting of guacamole a la Graham, finger lickin' chicken a la Dave, and I mashed up some taters. Skyping was obviously rampant throughout the day. I talked to a bunch of my family yesterday via the Skype and it was nice seeing them all except for the fact that Father Bear kept acusing me of being stoned. I argued with Grammie about how Sarah Palin is a demon who should be condemned to stay in Alaska forever. It made me miss home seeing everyone and then I realized this London thing is halfway through. It's going unnoticably fast but painfully slow. After dinner we watch another movie that was really good, Renaissance. Highly suggest it. Since then, 4 people have left our flat, two residents and two guests, and Dave Mountain and I are T - 12 hours away from the inception of Man Week. Mr. Mountain and myself will have 91 Park West to ourselves for roughly 5 days, if everyone's travel plans go as planned. Look at the pics.

I haven't been the best this week updating this damn thing. Actually I've been terrible at it. This week was kind of stressful and I made it even more stressful for myself by procrastinating as usual. Stupid. I got everything done though and we're on break now. Ned Booth, a good friend and a gentleman who I went to Suffield with, came in on Thursday from Berlin. He left this afternoon and It was great to see him. Much fun was had and Suffield times were remembered. Taylor Weidman will never be left alone with a close friend, and that's for sure. I still don't know what I'm going to do this week for break. I walked full speed into a metal light pole this evening going to the tube with a large and rauckus crowd celebrating Juliette's birthday. I was the soberest of the group which some of you readers may find hard to believe, but a late class had hindered me from getting a timely start on the evening's debauchery. Ten minutes after the skull-shattering collision, it looked as though the left side of my forhead was trying birth a Pro V 1. Everyone had a good laugh at the expense of my dwindling brain cells and it is an instance which I will not forget for some time to come. We ate lots of bagels in Shoreditch and got a few drinks but had some trouble finding places open late, considering it was a Wednesday night. Anyway, that is all. I went running today after I got home from class and some light grocery shopping. It felt pretty damn good after a solid month of lethargy. Helped clear the mind a little. Physical exhaustion is always a welcome feeling at the end of a day. Hopefully I can get back on some kind of structured sleep schedule because right now mine's pretty out of whack. Sarah Palin and the steady global economic decline are ever-present nightmares of mine as I'm sure many others. Hopefully going to watch the debate tonight. That's it for too-daa.

Today we went to the Imperial War Museum with Uncle SkibaDibaDoo and it was a very interesting and frightening place. Never have I seen such a conglomeration of large scale instruments of death. There were V2 rockets, the biggest shells ever made for the biggest guns ever made, images and looped video of death and destruction on three of the four floors, and in the midst of all of this wondrous joy there were at least 70 small school children running around all of these atrocities of humankind. Not my idea of an appropriate field trip for anyone who can be considered a child. I actually think I found an error in one of the exhibit write-ups about a shell that went to the biggest gun ever made.
I know I shouldn't be counting down the days until I leave this wonderful city but I can't help it. There's too much of me back home and too much that I need and miss. I know I can't do anything about it, and I know I need to enjoy my time here, and I'm trying really hard and I'm having a good time. But not being with a person who has the ability to make you happier than you ever thought you could be, when you've only known her for six months (in five days) just doesn't seem fair. It actually is one of the most frustrating things I've ever had to deal with. And for those of you who would like to try and give me advice on this I greatly appreciate it and respect your opinions but I'd rather not hear it.
This is for sure one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I've grown more in the past five weeks than I have in the past two years. I'm learning everywhere I go and in everything I do. New perspectives and ideas are being presented to me everywhere I look here and I think I am taking advantage of as many opportunities here as I can, or atleast most of them.
But at the same time my mind can't stop running in circles. One of the most intense feelings of helplessness I've ever experienced.
But that's all for today.

Today Helen and I did our Monday cleaning after a late night at Taylor's. David made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and it was delicious. Meghan ate with us and it was funny. Today Helen and I did out ritual Manic Monday Clean Sesh which succeeded in great, glorious clean flat-ing. We then relaxed for a bit and went grocery shopping. A delicious tapas dinner ensued after we arrived back home and all were content. We watched Persepolis after and have just been hanging out all night. The economy is making me nervous. As are hockey moms around the world and their plans to one day take over the world with their creationism and extremest 'pro-life' views. I folded Dave Mountain's laundry today. What an experience. The title of this post, by the by, refers to Digestives, a cookie that looks like the famed Hobnob, but its supposed to help you make a b.m. Helen was going to get a pack of Hobnobs tonight while shopping but then decided on Digestives because there was a great 2 packs for 2 pounds bargain! So we're fartin' up a storm here at 91 Park West. Until tomorrow.

Took a trip to Bath today which was somewhat interesting. It was a beautiful day but we spent most of it on buses and trains and around other American tourists. Bath is a gorgeous little city but tour guides are yelling at you at 8:30 in the morning because they don't know how to organize a group of people well it makes the day a little less fun and a bit more sucky. To cap it off we got on the wrong train headed back to London and had to go back to Bath to get another train. But that wasn't bad. I should probably stop whining. Tah Tah.

Went to Hyde Park again today to shoot the slalom rollerbladers and found 3 of the best guys in the UK which is pretty good for the photostory. The weather was amazing all day. Woke up pretty late today and cleaned the flat with Helen for about 3 hours which was good and productive. Afterwards we went and talked to our landlord about our fridge and freezer issues which he said would hopefully be fixed by tomorrow. We went to Hyde Park to look for story ideas. I got a bunch of standard park shots, nothing I'm excited about. Going back tomorrow and Wednesday to keep looking and exploring. Its wonderful to have such a large park so close to us. Saw some funny ducks, cute puppies and some rollerbladers who gave me one possible story idea but I don't know if it will materialize into anything I'll be interested in pursuing. Today was a lazy day. After a first week of classes, getting settled in our new London homestead and our second weekend in London a day of rest was well needed. We went out to a pub called The Court around 10 to meet up with our friend Jake and get a pint. Got some shots of pool. This place is fun and exciting but my heart isn't here. Bed time soon.

Took a trip to Stonehenge and Salisbury on Friday which was pretty interesting. We went on a tour of the Salisbury Cathedral, the second tallest cathedral in Europe: 400 some-odd foot spire. Our tour guide for both Stonehenge and Salisbury was a history professor from the Syracuse London Program but I completely forgot his name like a dumb. The small town of Salisbury was interesting and surprisingly very "posh" as the Brits say when speaking of the upper-class areas and people and culture in general.

Stonehenge was pretty interesting as well. Fascinating to image how people moved, lifted and shaped those stones. It rained in the morning but it was just sprinkling in bursts at Stonehenge when we were there and we even saw some blue sky for a bit.

Today we went to Abbey Road and the British Library with my good friend Steve. Great catching up with him and actually seeing him in London. We all getting ready to go out tonight so got to vut this a bit short but more to come tomorrow. You stay classy whoever is reading this pitiful blog.

Hello Hello,

It's been awhile since my last post and I'm sure no one was looking at it anyway so whoopdee-do. My flat is spread before me with my five other flat-mates posted throughout the living room. A post-dinner malaise has come over us after Ada made a "standard Brazilian meal" of beans, rice and cooked vegetables which most of us got seconds on. A homemade meal is an amazing source of comfort that i realized I've neglected and under appreciated my whole life. I just cursed myself for not taking pictures of it. I'm very happy here in London but I'm also missing home and even Syracuse because of love. One of the hardest things I've ever had to go through is being away from the person I love.
